200 Hour Teacher Training Program
meets the requirements set by the Yoga Alliance

The students at Yoga Jo's are full of questions and often research information about yoga on the internet and from books.  The Studio's personal library is always receiving requests to borrow on of our hundreds of books.  The Yoga School was created to meet the needs of those who wish to become a yoga teacher (50 & 200 Hour Levels) as well as our local community in their interest in learning more.   There have been many starts and stops and restarts, but we are finally reaching the final goal.  The next classes to be held are the Pranayama and Meditation beginning in July.  The 50 Hour training begins in September.

Lecture Series

The Anatomy and Philosophy courses are part of our Lecture Series.  That means any one interested in deepening their knowledge of these subjects are invited to enroll. The Anatomy and Physiology is divided into 3 categories.  Western Science, Ayurvedic Science and Traditional Chinese Medicine.  All three have a basic introduction to beliefs and terminology and the Western Science and Ayurvedic Science has advanced classes.   The Philosophy Introductory classes explain basic yogic beliefs with an outline of the history of yoga.  The the advanced classes delve into the sacred text and theory of yoga.

Anyone may take any of these courses. People taking the Teacher Training Courses are required to complete specific Lecture Classes in order to graduate.  You need not take them in special order or during the same year.

Workshops and Clinic Series

Meditation, Breathing, Chanting are part of the workshop and clinic series. We also offer through out the year, stress relief, sciatic relief, massage and more.

These are also open to the general public and no special training is required.  People taking the Teacher Training Courses are required to complete specific Workshops and Clinics as well as teach at least one in order to graduate.  You need not take them in special order or during the same year.

Business Series

There are three levels of training in the business courses.  The first is all basic and helping you decide which path to choose in teaching.  The second level helps you define who your clients will be and how to grow in the business world.  The final level covers the basics of being a studio owner.
